John Gunther-Mohr

John Gunther-Mohr is a career mortgage banker with over 25 years of experience in real estate finance spanning a wide spectrum of assets and markets in the US. Mr. Gunther- Mohr currently serves a Senior Vice President at Santander Bank that he joined in 2011 to build a lending platform in the New York and Washington DC markets. Since then, he has successfully expanded Santander’s loan origination efforts to top tier clients and currently manages a portfolio of $2 billion in construction and term loan commitments.
Prior to joining Santander, Mr. Gunther-Mohr headed U.S. real estate finance for the Bank of Scotland based in New York. After acquisition of Bank of Scotland by Lloyds
Banking Group he managed the bank's real estate portfolio to wind down the bank's U.S. exposure. Before joining the Bank of Scotland, Mr. Gunther-Mohr served as General
Manager for the U.S. Representative Office of Allgemeine Hypothekenbank Rheinboden AG (AHBR), a German mortgage bank with $70 billion in total assets.
Mr. Gunther-Mohr is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He is a long-time member of
the ULI and currently is Vice Chair of the Board of the Real Estate Lenders Association, a New York based non-profit that provides networking, educational and social events for
its members and the New York real estate banking community. He also is Chair of the Board of Jazz Forum Arts, Inc. a non-profit that produces jazz concerts in the New York area.
